These are real photographs. Where digital tools are used as finishing tools — the engraver's pass on a Field Plate, for instance — the listing says so, plainly. The raw, untouched edition is offered alongside whenever you'd rather have the photograph exactly as the field gave it.

From the Field
Maison Sturges is the studio of J.M., a wildlife biologist working in New York's Hudson Valley. The plates and prints here begin as field photographs — bears, birds, sheep on a Bellvale hillside — and are finished slowly, in small numbered drops.
